4T65E Occasional harsh upshifts

Thought this question and answer would be helpful.
Hello,
I have a 2000 Olds Silhouette. I am sure it is a 4t65e transaxle with a 258mm converter. I would like to purchase a shift kit to address occasional hard up-shifts when tranny is hot. I was leaning towards a Transgo sk4t65e shift kit, but I cannot confirm it will work with the larger torque converter, since everything I can find seems to refer to a 245mm torque converter. I began to doubt whether the Transgo kit would work after looking at the Intense brand shift kit instruction, which address the two torque converter sizes. Does Transgo have a setup for both torque converters and if so, I would like to review the installation instructions before I purchase the Transgo sk4t65e to confirm it will meet my needs.

Answer:
The Transgo 4T65E shift kit will work for your car. The most important part of this kit is installed through the bottom pan and addresses the accumulators. The kit addresses the transmission and not the torque converter. The two problems that cause soft or harsh shifts are the accumulators and the EPC (Electronic Pressure Control) Solenoid. The easiest to correct is the accumulator problem since they are located in the bottom pan. I would suggest trying this first because this repair is permanent and will not need to be removed even if you need to go further.
